Goettl Air Conditioning, a leading company in the HVAC industry, announced the acquisition of Walton’s Heating and Air, a family-owned company located in south California. The financial details of the deal were not made public. With this acquisition, Goettl, which has locations in Las Vegas, Tucson and Phoenix will strengthen its presence in the California market. At the same time, the deal will help Walton’s to grow beyond what its owner Todd Longbrake could take it.
In a statement, Longbrake said that he had done all that he could do to keep the family-owned HVAC at the top, but it had reached a plateau stage. When Goettl approached Walton’s with an idea of purchasing the company, Longbrake was hesitant. He only took the deal after he heard promising comments from Ken Goodrich, the owner of Goettl. Since joining forces, the company has recorded tremendous growth. Check out LinkedIn to know more.
After the acquisition, Walton’s employees were retained where Longbrake doubles as a field supervisor and sales manager. In a statement, Goodrich praised Longbrake for quickly assimilating the company culture and performing greatly. Although the deal was finalized in 2015, it was announced in 2017. Operational issues within Walton’s Heating and Air and marketing complications kept Goettl owner from announcing the deal. According to Goodrich, they needed to ensure that everything was in place before making the deal official.
Among the reasons why Goodrich was attracted to Walton’s is that the company is family owned and shares some values with Goettl, which also began as a family-owned company. Goodrich saw Walton’s as an opportunity to grow and reach a larger consumer base.
With the acquisition, Goettl now boasts of over 300 employees and the firm plans to recruit 200 additional employees. The new jobs will be created in Tucson and Phoenix, which are the company’s largest markets. With a goal of ensuring that the organization becomes a national brand, the firm will be expanding to northern California and Texas in 2018.
